This program for children is one of the best anti - bullying and violence prevention programs. It is evidence and research based and is now being offered in many countries around the world. Mary Gorden, the program's founder, has won numerous awards, in Canada (Govenor General's Award, among others) and internationally.

After an absence to recover from knee surgery, I have decided to retire from the classroom.
I want to thank all my students and parents for a wonderful experience at Briargreen for the past 20 years. It has been a real pleasure to work with so many clever students who taught me so much. I consider myself very lucky to have enjoyed the best job in the world!

To me, retirement will mean on-going involvment in education as a volunteer. I look forward to raising Monarch butterflies for one. In addition, I attended the Roots of Empathy Instructor Course this summer and anticipate bringing this inspiring program to several schools in the near future.
